RIYL: Street Fighter, Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter II Alpha, Mortal Kombat, Neo Geo
Label: Brave Wave
The first time that I ever played Street Fighter II was at Bridgetown Bowl. Bret, Andy and I would walk two and a half miles with our pockets full of quarters on summer afternoons to plug quarter after quarter into the Street Fighter II machine. I was Chun-Li, or some times I was Blanka, but almost always I was Chun-Li.
Brave Wave out of Japan has brought all of the Street Fighter II music into one massive box set in all of it’s 8 bit glory (full of bleeps and bloops).
It’s a super pretty package. I’m actually more excited for the artwork than for the music itself, but that’s just my own preference when it comes to video game soundtracks.
