RIYL: classic cinema soundtracks
Much like a strategic, premeditated shark attack, Mondo has glided through your radar unnoticed today, leaving no time for you to think of a plan of defense, much less swim back to shore. ┬áCRUNCH. ┬áThat’s either the sound of your femur snapping in half or Mondo just dropped an essential never-before-released vinyl soundtrack without an announcement.
Any fan of John Williams or ‘golden era’ film soundtracks needs no more description than this. ┬áThe original film score to the classic 1975 film Jaws is finally getting a complete vinyl┬árelease. ┬áThe 1975 issue was a re-recording, so what you’re getting here is the absolute original music. ┬áPretty damn cool.
No clue as to the quantity of ‘ocean blue’ variants, but if you don’t like to take chances, you should probably cop a copy now.
One of the finest achievements in film music and quite possibly the most iconic score of all time, John WilliamsÔÇÖ score to JAWS is an absolute essential for soundtrack collectors. While the Grammy-winning 1975 MCA album was a re-recording, MondoÔÇÖs 2XLP set presents the entire Academy Award-winning score as composed and recorded for the actual film in its first-ever vinyl release. Album co-producer Mike Matessino restored, edited and mixed the music from the original studio elements for the best possible quality, approved by the composer himself.
