RIYL: The Legend of Zelda

Label: Materia Collective

Help Materia Collective raise the funds needed to make this recording happen!

Materia Collective is pleased to announce the production of Hero of Time, a licensed one-hour arrangement album based on Koji Kondo’s music from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. With the successful funding of this Kickstarter project, Hero of Time will be recorded live with a full orchestra in one of the world’s top destinations for professional recording sessions (to be determined).

Hero of Time is first and foremost a musical retelling of the story of Ocarina of Time, including key moments that occur before the game’s beginning and during Link’s concealment for seven years. While each track can be enjoyed individually, Hero of Time is designed to be a more fulfilling listening experience when heard from beginning to end.

Since we have a limited amount of time that we will be able to record, covering every track on the Ocarina of Time soundtrack would be implausible. In order to retell the complete story of the game, the tracks have been designed to focus on one central aspect of the story, with additional elements of related material incorporated throughout. For example, a track about the Gerudo Valley segment of the game might also include references to Spirit Temple and Requiem of Spirit. There will be approximately 20 tracks in total.

Non-Backers Vinyl Option
The label does indicate that they plan to make vinyl copies available after the Kickstarter, but that is of course dependent on them reaching their goal. Take your chances if you dare!
