RIYL: video game soundtracks

Label: Polytron

After much guffawing, weeping and pleading, Polytron has reissued the beloved Fez soundtrack by electronic soundscaper Disasterpeace (Rich Vreeland), also well-known for his chilling score to the 2015 indie horror film It Follows.

It’s no surprise that fans of Disasterpeace are also big Brian Eno fans.  Vreeland, like Eno, has an uncanny ability to humanize the synthesizer, and his added gift of songwriting composition is just icing on the cake.  Whether you enjoyed playing Fez or not, the soundtrack is strong enough to stand on its own, and thanks to this new reissue, you don’t have to shell out $100+ for a copy on vinyl.

According to the label, there are 1000 copies of the white vinyl available, and they’re housed in sleeves embossed with silver foil.  Listen to the entire score below and grab a copy after the ‘buy’ link.
