RIYL: Comedy Bang Bang

Label: Newbury Comics

Comedy Bang! Bang!, purveyor of all things funny and one of my favorite podcasts is releasing a Vinyl. Ridiculous? Yes. Amazing? Also yes. Gotta have? Hella yes.

Honoring the anniversary of Harris Wittels’ death in 2015 (Harris was one of the funniest improvisors in the business and worked on amazing shows like The Sarah Silverman Program and Parks and Recreation), this collection of the three episodes that make up the “Farts and Procreation” series of episodes where he, Scott Auckerman, Adam Scott, and Chelsea Peretti would talk, make dumb jokes, do crazy improvised skits and generally make me laugh til I cried. I will always miss Foam Corner and the classic #humblebrag, but this is a great way to commemorate him and part of the proceeds will go to the Harris Wittels Fund, which provides scholarships to students.

The Details

A Newbury Comics exclusive color vinyl pressing. For the first 200 pre-orders, purchase will include a 3"x5" motormouth logo postcard autographed by Adam Scott, Chelsea Peretti, and Scott Aukerman (1 per order). Autographed postcards are now sold out!

In one of the first-ever podcast-to-vinyl releases comes Earwolf’s hit podcast, Comedy Bang Bang. This vinyl double album includes recordings from three episodes of Comedy Bang Bang’s famed “Farts and Procreation” series, featuring the show’s intrepid host, Scott Aukerman, along with Harris Wittels, Adam Scott, and Chelsea Peretti.

The album honors the anniversary of Wittels’ death in 2015. Wittels, an especially beloved Comedy Bang Bang guest, was known for his roles writing and executive producing TV cult comedies like The Sarah Silverman Program and Parks and Recreation, among others. Perhaps most notably, Wittles is credited with coining the now-ubiquitous idiom #HumbleBrag, which he later detailed in his 2012 book, “Humblebrag: The Art of False Modesty."

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Harris Wittels Fund, which awards scholarships to graduating seniors of his alma mater, The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, TX.
