RIYL: Tallest Man On Earth, Bon Iver, Iron & Wine
Who else can melt your heart quite like S. Carey? It was a rhetorical question, but I’m sure that some will agree with me that the two previous releases were lovely, yet the latter was bit underwhelming in some areas. I’m glad to bring you Hundred Acres, the Wisconsin singer-songwriter’s third full length album. The album finds Sean more grounded and comfortable then his previous albums, “with one foot in the stream” so to speak. The single is good, in fact I can be audibly quoted as saying “oh, wow” during class. This limited edition green vinyl looks pretty cool, but may be a large pressing batch due to availability at Secretly Store, Pledge Music, the Bandcamp site, and at the S. Carey artist store. Also, I’m pretty early on this (3 hours ago announced…), so stay tuned for possible other variants (Rough Trade may have something, UK releases, or Indie-Only). I’ve looked but haven’t seen much. Anyways, enjoy!
