RIYL: Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young | Simon and Garfunkel
Label: Too Many Records
Fort Vine is an Art-Pop-Indie-Folk duo from New York, and they are back and better than ever with their 3rd album, Primordial Mirror of Cosmic Reflection.
Fans of One in the Same and Stay Magical will be delighted to be reunited with the entrancing guitar-work and gorgeous throwback harmonies harking back to the the days of Crosby Stills Nash and Young and Simon and Garfunkel while being surprised and treated to an album full of unexpected sonic twists and turns, breaking their own mold while retaining their signature sound you’ve come to love.
While Stay Magical dealt with themes of love and friendship and family, Primordial Mirror takes those ideas and blasts them into the stratosphere, touching on spirituality, the cosmos, and what it means to really open your third eye to the beauty and wonder of the world around us, above us, and inside of us.
Housed inside of a gatefold jacket are two double splatter disks, each with different patterns complementing the art highlighted on the album’s cover, pressed at 45RPM and mastered for vinyl.
They were mixed by the grammy award winning Ted Young and mastered by the legendary Ed Brooks who mastered the Fleet Foxes self titled album and many live performances by Pearl Jam. Oh… and the disks were cut by the one, and only, Richard Houghten as if this couldn’t have enough TMR Star Power behind it.
“The coolest part of this release is that TMR has partnered with the insanely talented Wax Mage to offer up 25 “Wax Mage” variants of the record. It’s a double disk album, so it will be two distinct Wax Mage designs in one package, something I have yet to see done personally. Instead of a free for all sale where whoever has the fastest internet wins, we are offering up the chance to buy these in a raffle system. Each person who orders a copy of Primordial Mirror will be entered for a chance to win, and we will randomly select each person after the regular records ship. If someone declines their spot, it will go to the next. We felt this was the fairest way to deal with it since the Wax Mage versions are so meticulously hand crafted and limited by nature. They will be expensive, at $100 a pop — but remember, they’re going to be the ultimate Fort Vine collectible and it’s two wax mage disks, so think of it as $50 a piece ;)”
