After flying under the radar for a few years with some EPs and 7″s, Swedish shoegazers Westkust made enough of a splash with their 2015 debut full-length Last Forever to amass widespread acclaim across music sites big and small.  Julia Bjernelind’s vocals carve right through the ensemble’s wall of swirl and noise, a perfect yin and yang that I fell so hard for on Last Forever.  A few of Westkust’s members are also in the heavier rock project Makthaverskan, and the tug of war between aggression and acquiescence is still palpable in newest single Swebeach.  Listen to it below.

For the stateside collectors, grab the sophomore record from Run For Cover Records after the ‘buy’ link.  They have a green-colored variant limited to 200 and a purple variant limited to 800.  The green slabs won’t last long.  If you’re in the UK, get the vinyl from Luxury Records HERE.  They have a white vinyl variant limited to 200 and black vinyl copies limited to 300.
