Slumberland Records is a vinyl collector’s paradise.  Every album is good, every album gets a limited pressing and the wax is always beautiful.  This one is no exception.

Weekend wears their influences on their sleeves, but their recipe for lush melancholic soundscapes demands respect from fans of the shoegaze genre.

I hear Creation Records, I hear 1989 in Manchester, I hear Jesus and Mary Chain, but I also hear Weekend…and that’s important.  This band doesn’t sound like they’re aping anyone’s sound, and the track below should make that clear.
