Every music scene has its death rattle. As soon as it’s labeled, that’s usually a sign of impending doom. Glam, punk, grunge, alt-r&b, d-d-d-dubstep and, of course, chillwave. It ain’t all bad, though. When a scene jumps the shark, the bottom feeders usually fade pretty quick and the great groups endure. Chillwave scene’s Neon Indian, Toro y Moi, Washed Out are some good examples of the wheat among the chaff. I thought Small Black would be one of the casualties of the chillwave scene, but after hearing this new track, I’ve changed my mind completely.

Their upcoming album is sure to please, and it also comes in a nice limited package. Bonus!
