Chicago-based indie/psych/dreampop band Sister Crystals delivers a rich and impressive melodic sound, with lots of swirling fuzzy guitars and drop-dead beats in the mix. It reminds me a great deal of Melody’s Echo Chamber, and does very well sound like something Tame Impala-guru Kevin Parker could have produced. A very strong debut, indeed!

Their debut-album came out last June, but unfortunately slipped under Sly’s radar until Insound had the moody, quite fantastic “For So Long” featured as their recommended track of the week yesterday.

This first pressing is limited to 500 copies on Bone Coloured Vinyl, and some are still available through their label Walk-In Records
