Insta alert. Austin shoegaze legends Ringo Deathstarr are back with album number five, 13 tracks of soaring guitar daydreams, misty musings and blissful noise. Titled simply Ringo Deathstarr, the record comes almost 5 years after their acclaimed 2015 LP Pure Mood, but picks up right where they left off. Alex Gehring’s blistering bass still weaves effortlessly into her angelic falsetto and Elliott Frazier’s lower register cuts through the fog like a machete to jungle overhang. A band who was around before the new shoegaze movement took root, it’s always a great feeling when Ringo Deathstarr comes out with a new one.
The Reverberation Appreciation Society has two colored vinyl variants for the album, both limited to 500 copies. The first one to sell out will be the ‘cotton candy cloud’ variant, a gorgeous wax magey ensemble of blue and white with pink splatter. You can also grab a coke bottle clear variant for a few bucks less. UK shoppers, Club AC30 has the black vinyl for you HERE.
