RIYL: Spacemen 3, Gap Dream, Black Angels

Label: Wrong Way Records

Norwegian drone psych group Rancho Relaxo are celebrating their 10-year anniversary this year, and they’re commemorating their longevity with Polarized, a 5-track E.P. focusing on a recent vintage organ they purchased to expand their current brand of blissful, droned-out psychscapes.  If newest single Tell Me Something is any indication of what this new avenue will be sounding like, I’m f-ing juiced for their future work.  The organ blends into their sweeping guitar reverb perfectly, adding a featherweight, hypnotic element in the production.  Add on Rancho’s hushed  and sedated vocals and you’ve got yourself a solid psychgaze sound reminiscent of Spacemen 3, Brian Jonestown Massacre and Gap Dream.

Wrong Way Records has put together a new series called the Blacklist 100 and Polarized is leading off with a bang.  They’re hand-numbered, hand-stamped and there aren’t many to go around.  Check out Tell Me Something below and grab a copy before they’re gone.
