Slow Tapes, the debut EP from Los Angeles’ Angels Dust, is a beautifully dark and moody collection of haunting vocals and sparse beats. Worth picking up if you’re a fan of the overall vibe of Portishead and you need a good “it’s wayyyyy late, what should we listen to now?” record. Also available on cassette while they last. The Details

ANGELS DUST is vocalist FLAVIA and producer DAVID LAMPLEY, both originally hailing from San Diego, CA. Their bewitching, hypnotizing yet soulful debut summons the same heaviness and somber darkness of Portishead & Mazzy Star. Flavia's almost-whispered vocals are front and center, anchored by loose swinging beats that are as unnerving as they are catchy. Lampley (also known as Psychopop, one half of San Diego instrumental noise legends SKRAPEZ, as well as a frequent GONJASUFI collaborator) handles the gritty lo-fi production duties.

The mesmerizing and raw 6-song EP is scheduled for release on June 22nd 2015 on HIT+RUN [HNR48]. Their eerie 17-minute album will be available digitally, on a limited-edition chrome cassette, as well as red-colored 10" vinyl (with one-of-a-kind jacket screenprinted by HIT+RUN).

This Bandcamp digital download includes the BONUS TRACK "Slow Tapes" (Mystery Cave Remix" only available here with purchase of the EP.
