You know if got this write up from Ryan and I’m just going to let him take it away.
- On September 18th, 500 copies will be available at select record stores and shops worldwide.
- · Includes a clear vinyl 10″ featuring tracks by Robin Pecknold, Bonnie “Prince” Billy & more.
- · Proceeds will be donated to 826 National: a writing, publishing and tutoring non-profit org serving kids 6-18.
- · 60 page full color journal with contributions from Damien Echols, Gloria Steinem & more.
This is an interesting one… An illusive one too…
Interesting because it’s a journal WITH a 10″ worth of some proper, not to mention exclusive, recordings from the likes of Robin Pecknold / Bonnie “Prince” Billy / Department of Eagles / Amen Dunes & more.
Illusive, cause, well, it sold out pretty damn fast. It was a strict pre-order from their website with a set amount being sold, shortly thereafter, through an undisclosed amount of independent record stores.
I found out about this back on August 21st, before I knew about Sly Vinyl, from the Fleet Foxes newsletter. Since I can’t seem to find any proper information anywhere else I’m going to paste what it told me just in case you choose to post this:
Hope all is wonderful with you. We over here at Unified Field Collective, who oversee Fleet Foxes operations, are so pleased to announce the inaugural issue of our arts and lit journal, The Unified Field. As subscribers to the FF list, we appreciate your spirit and support greatly. There are a limited number of copies available, so we wanted to let you know before the majority.
ENTER THE UNIFIED FIELD
The Unified Field is an arts and lit journal published in limited editions with each issue uniting a wide array of contributors under an overarching theme. The inaugural issue on transition features 60 full color pages and includes:
A special 10″ pressing on crystal clear vinyl with rare tracks from:
Robin Pecknold / Bonnie “Prince” Billy / Department of Eagles / Amen Dunes & more.
Damien Echols of the West Memphis 3, just weeks following his release after over 18 years on death row penned a journal entry reflecting his thoughts during such a drastic shift in reality.
Author, editor and activist Gloria Steinem has shared a portion of her newest, unreleased book.
Renowned photographer Autumn de Wilde captured intimate portraits of adolescence.
This, plus content from over 35 additional writers, artists, musicians and more resides within this first issue.
Proceeds will be donated to 826 National, a writing, publishing and tutoring non-profit organization serving kids from 6-18.
Where to find it…

Since this sold out, I have seen it only pop up in a few legitimate places. One being SubPop (it has since sold out) and the second being from their actual website. I guess they found some extras that they had held back, not sure. But either way… HERE YOU GO SLY VINYL COMMUNITY!!!
OH, and I should point out to those of you debating this purchase… “Proceeds will be donated to 826 National, a writing, publishing and tutoring non-profit organization serving kids from 6-18.”
