Having drawn comparisons as “a darker cousin to Vampire Weekend and The Antlers,” The Dig caught a lot of attention with their 2012 release, Midnight Flowers.

Developed around the band’s two singers Emile Mosseri and David Baldwin, who’ve been making music together since the age of 11, The Dig has come to be known for their “sharp guitars, woozy synth backdrop and airtight vocal harmonies.”

Midnight Flowers was produced Bryce Goggin (Pavement, The Apples In Stereo, Swans, Antony & The Johnsons) and propelled the band to tours alongside such acts as the Lumineers, Portugal The Man, the Walkmen, Beady Eye, the Joy Formidable, Ben Kweller, Thrice, and Here We Go Magic.

“If it isn’t the ambience of their tracks combined with the drive that intriguingly creeps into their progression, it’s the perfectly fitting vocals that forces you to think about your past, and the people you’ve met along the way.  It’s an album that makes you think.  It makes you remember.  It’s an album that makes you feel.  And in my mind thats what an album truly is.” – Scott Graham of MusicWithoutLabels.com
