RIYL: Kurt Vile, Count Five, King Gizzard, Tame Impala, Blues Magoos

Label: Fat Elvis Records and Fonoflo Records

Killer cover for a start. Then the needle drops and the fun begins. This is contemporary feel-good rock and roll. When rock began to get dirty and take off its thin black tie. Not many tracks here, but all 7  by this Atlanta, GA four-piece pack a wallop. The production is crisp, clean, and renders each note, and each kick drum, a joy to hear. Did I mention the floating eye variant?

The Details

"Fat Elvis Records and Fonoflo Records present the debut album by Reverends - "Derealization Blues". Cover art designed and drawn by Darren Grealish. Vinyl was pressed at Gotta Groove Records in Ohio. Comes in four different variants: 100 white vinyl, 75 black & white splatter on clear vinyl, 50 custom “Floating Eyeball” FonoFills (made by Fonoflo Records) with silver webbing & over thirty floating eyes, and finally 25 Wax Mage “Brain Matter Splatter” pink records. FonoFills and Wax Mage variants will come in embellished jackets - metallic silver and fluorescent pink paint (respectively). Materials such as the glitter and eye cut-outs inside the “Floating Eye” records are made to move around, expect some dramatic shifting in shipping; when they arrive, gently tap the record’s side on a flat surface to move the materials into desired position. Sale will take place beginning Saturday September 3rd (Labor Day Weekend) on both fatelvisrecords.com and fonoflo.com except for the white vinyl variants. Due to a mishap at the post office, about half of the white edition is in limbo and the only copies of those will be available at fonoflo.com for now."
