RIYL: classic rock with a 70s glam twist
Label: Fat Elvis Records
Nashville singer/songwriter Gyasi Heus leads the rock 4-piece known simply as Gyasi, a wink and a nod to the glammed-up excess of early 70s rock and roll. Clad in a catsuit that would make Freddie Mercury blush, Heus gives you the guitar solos, the four-on-the-floor back beats, the hand claps, the yelps and the falsettos and douses them all in lipstick and glittery eyeliner. And don’t think for a second that this fella shouldn’t be taken seriously.  A talented songwriter with an intimidatingly versatile vocal range, I’m looking forward to a full-length soon!
There were a super limited batch of wax mage variants that have sold out already (sorry), but three other colorways are still available. There’s a splatter variant, a translucent red and a translucent blue, all limited to 100 copies each. You can grab a bundle of all three of those for $25 and, if you’re feeling particularly saucy, you can add a test press copy for $17. Check out the studio version of Teacher after the ‘buy’ link and watch a live performance of the jam below.
