KAPOW! —> FA-THUD..  This bunch knows how to pack a full-blown fuzz-punch whith some great hooks and harmonies, killer-combo! Alternative? Grunge? Power Pop? Punk? Shoegaze?  Hm..  I think all those terms would fit the Vancouver power-trio that is Dead Soft.  Their self-titled debut full-length is out in a couple of weeks from now, following a string of EP’s and singles over the last few years. I’m really digging this album, and the first thing I’m gonna do once I’ve posted this article is dig into their earlier stuff!

The tracks on this album really brings back the 90’s alternative-vibe, and would probably fit perfect in on 120 minutes (back when MTV was actual Music Television, remember?) right in between fat cuts from Nirvana, Weezer, Dinosaur Jr. Mudhoney, The Posies, Sugar and all those great alternative bands that ruled the indie-scene at the time (worth mentioning that a couple of’em still kicks ass, btw!).  There’s probably more fuzz on this album than produced over the last few decades elsewhere alltogether, but rest assured it’s all done with the right attitude. Even the more mellow tunes explodes into a fuzzy bliss! Speaking of attitude, there’s a nice slacker-vibe flowing throughout the album that fits their expression like a glove. I highly recommend you check out Dead Soft, I for one know I’m gonna be sure to follow them close from now on!

Releasing on August 30. via Kingfisher Bluez, there’s a strictly Limited Gold & White Swirl Vinyl limited to 100 copies up for pre-orders( available by mail-order only)!
