Women own the art rock world in 2013. Â Julianna Barwick released ‘Nepenthe’ to rave reviews, Zola Jesus restructured her 2011 album ‘Conatus’ in a beautifully packaged vinyl piece called ‘Versions’, Pharmakon brought the f-ing HEAT with her debut album ‘Abandon’, St. Vincent is David Byrne’s go-to collaborator and Chelsea Wolfe is the reigning ice queen.
I hesitated to post about ‘Pain is Beauty’ when it came out originally on clear vinyl because it was unclear exactly how limited the pressing was. Â It’s now being pressed in a rarer edition on ‘bleeding heart’ translucent red, so if you want to own the rarest version of this superb album, now’s your chance.
There are a bunch of packages available for you t-shirt lovers, but I prefer to stick with wax and only wax.
