RIYL: Bully, Remember Sports, Diet Cig, that dog.
Label: Barsuk Records // BandBox
Brooklyn power poppers Charly Bliss have been around for nearly a decade, but their 2017 debut full-length Guppy helped put them on the map. Stirring up the head-bobbing power punk and emo ethos from the mid to late 90s and adding in a few more cups of sugar, the four-piece joins the ranks of bands like Bully, Diet Cig and that dog.
If you never picked this one up, there’s a brand new variant from BandBox, a new twist on the vinyl subscription service. They deliver one LP of your choice and an exclusive zine about the artist every month. It costs $29 per month, and subscribers can add additional LPs for a cool $17 each. There’s a wide range of other artists to choose from, and it’s growing quickly. For more info about BandBox, visit them HERE or just click the ‘buy’ link to start a subscription.
Limited to 300 copies, this pink vinyl variant is available exclusively to Bandbox subscribers.
As with each Bandbox, Guppy comes with an issue of our 16-page, full-color zine.
The Charly Bliss edition features a career-spanning oral history of the band and track-by-track commentary from all four members, plus rare and exclusive photos.
