Yesss! Bored Nothing, one of my definite favourite artists over the last couple of years,  is back with his sophomore album “Some Songs” on October 24th via Spunk Records!

Brief description from an earlier post: “The dude behind this project is Fergus Miller, and he has a real flair for coming up with soulful, lo-fi indie-pop/rock tunes. Indie, grunge, slacker, whatever, this guy brings it all to the table and serves up the best buffet you can imagine on a lazy summerday.”  I guess it’s fair to say that his musical expression lies somewhere between Elliott Smith (RIP) and Alex G, with it’s mellow soul and DIY-esthetics (Lou Barlow/Sebadoh, Guided By Voices and Sparklehorse are a few other artists that’s been mentioned).

The two tracks available for listening this far bears promise of more of the same quality-material presented on his absolutely stunning S/T debut-album from 2013 (now long out of print, be sure to jump on this one in time!)

Worth mentioning that he’s got a couple of other side-projects in Revenge Surgery and Milkshake (the latter currently on a hiatus), both definitely worth checking out!

Parts have the tunes and fuzz of early Sebadoh, other parts have the gentle and soothing nature of Elliott Smith whilst the pop tunes linger in your head like the Teenage Fanclub. Special.      -Rough Trade on the S/T album
