At long last, New York garage psych 3-piece Acid Dad are following up their 2016 self-titled debut with a brand new full-length titled Take It From The Dead, journeying further into their world of dizzying guitar sorcery, gyrating grooves and hazy harmonies. 2020 saw the trio jumping headfirst into the DIY ethos, building a new studio space in Queens, NY, building their own guitars and independently producing all their own music and art. That self-contained immediacy fueled Take It From The Dead, a mix of 70‚Äôs rock, 90‚Äôs neo-psych and a pinch of post-punk edge. They’ve also teamed up with video artist Webb Hunt to kick out some visual counterparts to the swirling landscape of their sound. Check two of those videos out below.
The two available colorways to this record are hypnotizing, a gorgeous blend of purples, yellows, reds and neons. Both limited to 300 copies a piece, one variant is swirly and the other is splattery. Get ’em both for maximum transcendence.
