RIYL: St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Tower Of Power, White Denim, anything on Daptone Records

Label: Colemine Records

Colemine Records is back at it again… This time with some more deep grooving soul music. Soul Scratch is reminiscent of classic soul, but with a bit of a jam band stank on it. They remind me a bit of St. Paul & The Broken Bones and even legendary funk/soul band Tower Of Power. Vocalist Dale Spollett add some great vocals, walking the line between buttery smooth and emotionally raspy. Dig it!

From the first few notes, this record grabs you. It’s raw soul and funk music crafted to perfection. Wailing vocals, soaring horns, and a super tight rhythm section. With a dirty production style, Soul Scratch serves up something that’s familiar, fresh, and never more relevant.

Includes download card. Houses in a heavyweight gatefold, tip-on jacket.
