No, you’re not seeing a ‘missing image’ icon. ¬†That tragic digital¬†countenance is the cover art for Kody Nielson’s newest project Silicon, a funky electronic psych trip flowing in the same vein as¬†Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s newest full-length Multi-Love. ¬†The similarities with UMO¬†don’t end there. ¬†Kody’s brother is Ruban Nielson, the front man of the aforementioned lofi psych soul brother trio, and Kody helped write, produce and play drums and keys on Multi-Love.

Personal Computer,¬†at first glance, sounds like it’s taking a similar path as Multi-Love, expressing its voice through drippy funk guitar swirls, trippy studio trickery, muted bass tones and that effortlessly soulful¬†Nielson falsetto.

Weird World Records is releasing the limited yellow wax and this thing is out next week, so there’s no telling how many more copies remain. ¬†Your $25 is going a long way here, as it also comes with a book of Kody Nielson’s¬†original paintings, many of which will soon be exhibited in Auckland, New York and London. ¬†Greatness.
