RIYL: Blood Orange, How to Dress Well, Benjamin Clementine

Label: Secretly Canadian

Born Josiah Wise, the experimental r&b artist now known as serpentwithfeet glided into 2016 with a humble EP called blisters, 5 tracks of remarkably¬†delicate soul amplified by Wise’s¬†distinctive trembling vocal delivery.¬† The industry certainly took note, and after two extensive tours and a few more years of writing, serpentwithfeet has readied his official debut soil.¬† I’m looking forward to¬†more¬†left-of-the-dial chord progressions and vocal treatments in the vein of How to Dress Well and Blood Orange, but I’m leaving my expectations at the door.¬† Josiah Wise¬†was born to defy them.

Secretly Canadian has a yellow vinyl variant available right now¬†after the ‘buy’ link and an autographed poster designed by serpentwithfeet for the first 150 preorders.¬† Those probably won’t last long!¬† Check out the music video for first track bless ur heart below and throw those headphones.¬† Those harmonies deserve your full attention.
