Happy Thanksgiving! This is another release featured as a part of the Polyvinyl Record Co. Black Friday sale. XBXRX is a noise rock/punk band originally from Mobile, Alabama. The band has since relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area/Los Angeles, but hey, you don’t see too many artists/bands coming out of Alabama now do you? Anyhow, this isn’t just any old 7″ with two songs. O boasts a whopping ten songs fit on to both sides. Albeit, they’re mostly under a minute and the whole thing just flies by faster than you can blink – the longest song on here is just over a minute and twenty. However, a song’s a song – there’s no definitive song length! O is the last output of XBXRX and it’s been over three years since that point so perhaps the band have an album in the works? Polyvinyl calls them an “artist’s artist” with XBXRX’s supporters being Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye, Sonic Youth, Peaches, Mates of State and more. For only $6, this can be yours. Check out O below via the Spotify player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
O is a 10-song 7”. Yes, that’s right – 10 songs! O is a return to form for the band harkening back to their Sixth in Sixes era.
XBXRX’s range of supporters run the gamut of Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye, Sonic Youth, Peaches, Mates of State, and many more.
Maybe you’ve heard the term “artist’s artist.” That’s XBXRX. The core of the band is two brothers who have had as much as an impact on the SF/Oakland art/punk scene as the Kinsella brothers have had in the mid-West.
