RIYL: The Undertones, Television, The Saints

Label: Six Tonnes de Chair Records

Louisiana power punk 4-piece The Bottomfeeders have officially committed themselves to the handy dandy 7″, and the beloved garage rocking Six Tonnes de Chair Records is backing them up with some gourmet vinyl treatment.

The Bottomfeeders are digging up the tried-and-true sweeter-than-honey power riffs from their late 70s punk rock forefathers like The Undertones, The Saints and Radio Birdman.  They ain’t looking to rewrite history here, but tell me songs like Blockade and Reverse Perverse don’t force an ear-to-ear smile on your face and get your head bobbing.  Chris Lyons’ vocals have a frenetic quality similar to Television’s Tom Verlaine and pair perfectly with Luke Junk’s snarling guitar pummeling.

Check out all three tracks below and grab a slab after the ‘buy’ link.
