I.D.A.L.G. is short for Il Danse Avec Les Genoux, which translates to “It Dances With Knees”, which¬†could only mean one thing…these guys get DOWN. ¬†They pummel the ground beneath them with le rock et roll¬†until it begs¬†for mercy. ¬†Combining psych-boggling grooves, proto funk and a brimming bowl full of¬†the catchiest riffs in the sea, I.D.A.L.G. is¬†here to make a lasting impression on your eardrums.
Similar to early 2000s Norwegian rocksters¬†The Cato Salsa Experience, the first listen to the available tracks off I.D.A.L.G.’s¬†Post Dynastie reveals a myriad of influences all over the map. ¬†There’s a very solid groovy thang happening in the vein of early Sly Stone on the title track while Aux Crocodiles could pass for an acid-laced party/orgy¬†in the late 60s. ¬†Meanwhile, Contre ta Cloture¬†ebbs and flows between a garage punk romp and a transcendental spoken word piece. ¬†It’s all in French, so I can’t understand a word, but that doesn’t inhibit¬†the fun, man. ¬†This thing cooks.
No word on the quantity of vinyl pressed, but it’s a limited batch. ¬†Check out the cuts below and grab a slab¬†after the ‘buy’ link.
