RIYL: jangly post-punk, new wave, goth

Label: Tough Love Records

Formed in 2016, Glasgow post-punk 4-piece Current Affairs have been steadily releasing 7″s and cassette EPs under various labels.  With a name like “Current Affairs”, however, the odds of you googling some details about the band are a bit tougher than if your band was named, say, Hoobastank. That’s where Tough Love Records come in.  Compiling all of the group’s past releases into one convenient 12″ slab of colored vinyl, your journey for the grail stops here.

Jangly and jagged guitar riffs collide with a razor sharp bass and drum rhythm section, the perfect balance for Joan Sweeney’s goth-y vocal delivery. Fans of that late 70s and early 80s UK post-punk scene will get a lot out of this release.  Grab a copy of the ‘black grape’ vinyl colorway after the ‘buy’ link. It’s limited to 500 copies.
