Looks like Flannel Gurl records decided to share some Valentine’s Day love with us by means of repressing CityCop’s fantastic debut album, Seasons, for those of you who missed out on the first run a little over 2 years ago. Their second pressing is limited to 500 copies on black vinyl, which is good news as I know some people prefer black wax. This little group from Ohio really made some waves with this debut EP and their unique style of acoustic screamo which will definitely be familiar for fans of bands like Old Gray, Cap’n Jazz or Caravels.

I’ve always been a sucker for great guitar riffs and this album’s five tracks are literally packed full of them. In fact, I really can’t think of another punk band that has such a unique, almost Spanish-sounding guitar. It adds a fantastic dynamic to the band and absolutely sets them apart from the rest of the newer wave of screamo/emo bands that have come along in recent years. I wouldn’t drop the ball on this one!
