RIYL: Parquet Courts, Husker Du, Sonic Youth
Label: Captured Tracks
As is customary with every new signee on Captured Tracks, there is an immediacy in B Boys’ lofi urgency.  The fervent guitar tones off first single Get A Grip bleed out of the speakers in a style reminiscent of early Husker Du while the heavy-handed backbeat melts perfectly into the mix like the brash UK hardcore sound from the early 80s.  This ain’t a hardcore band, though.  The vocal aggression reminds me of Parquet Courts’ breakout track Stoned and Starving or The Clash’s I’m So Bored With The USA, a conversational not-quite-singing, not-quite-spoken word style.
They join Perfect Pussy, Naomi Punk, The Soft Moon and the rest of the fringe punk scene that Captured Tracks has accumulated over the last half decade.  300 cream-colored wax slabs await you after the ‘buy’ link, and they’ll also come with a 12-page booklet.  Will it have pretty pictures?  Scribbled lyrics?  Both?  I suppose you’ll just have to buy it to find out.
This item is a pre-order. It will ship on or before it's March 18th release date.
The Special Edition version of the LP is limited to 300 copies, pressed on Cream Colored Vinyl and includes a 12-page 8" x 8" Booklet (as will all copies of the first pressing).
