ADVAETA is one of Fire Talks newest additions with their debut full-length,¬†Death and the Internet, dropping at the end of April. The Brooklyn post-punk trio does have some other material¬†we can go off of at the time being (a self-released single that was done a couple of years ago and a four-track digital-only EP – I’ll link both down below), but “Angelfish,” the lead single off¬†Death and the Internet, definitely should perk your ears. This time around, the band’s fine-tuned their production and, if “Angelfish” holds true to the rest of the album, they seem to have added a touch of elegance in their arrangements; the touch quite evocative of shoegaze.¬†2012 and¬†Gold Thought Exit/Newo come across as raw¬†anger and sludge (which isn’t a bad thing), while¬†Death and the Internet¬†comes across as more romantic. Who knows, though, maybe “Angelfish” is the band’s play to completely surprise us once the entire album drops. Check out all of the pieces I mentioned below via the Bandcamp and SoundCloud streams and see what you think of them. Cheers!
