So I always give my love up for Colorado bands, but even more love goes out to Oklahoma’s own, The Flaming Lips. Personally being born and raised in Oklahoma, I’ve been in love with the Flaming Lips for many years. Their music is never stagnant & always exciting. I caught the last half of their streaming set from SXSW on XMU (where they played this release in it’s entirety) last night and it sounded like much more of the psych drone is on it’s way. It’s a little curious, as the track they’ve put out “Sun Blows Up Today” sounded much more in the direction of “At War with the Mystics” era tracks. Â So I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Anyone at the show? Have a better report?
I’m very excited to see what Wayne and team have come up with. Jump on this silver version of the album before they’re gone!
