Label: Psychedelic Salad

London cosmonauts The Confederate Dead have been around for the better part of a decade and, just recently, have thankfully begun to put their work out on vinyl. Last year, the band released Infinite Expansion (which you can still pick up HERE), a billowing sprawl of meditative psych cuts inspired by Galaxie 500, Brian Jonestown Massacre and Islamic prayers. Barakallah, a collection of their first two EPs from 2012 and 2017, revolves centrally around Middle Eastern instrumentation and vocal performance. Paired with The Confederate Dead’s blanketing drone and reverb layering, Barakallah is something quite singular in the psychedelic music scene and worth repeated listens.
