Holy aural nuru-massage!

The debut-album from Aussie psych wizard Sunbeam Sound Machine is one soothing psychedelic seance of amazing tunes dipped in magic production-sauce,  served on a plate of infinite wonders and delights.

Melbourne-based Nick Sowersby is the guy with the machine, and he has managed to come up with an album packed with great melodies run through allsorts of production-tweeks. Notably it was mixed down by none other than King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard‘s main-man Stu Mackenzie! The album will definitely appeal to fans of The Gizzard, early Tame Impala and The Holydrug Couple, but also inhabits the chill-factor of Washed Out, High Tides and Vinyl Williams. If you haven’t tuned in already, this is the time good people!

This gem has been picked up and revamped as the second release by the exciting new label Echo Drug Recordings in the US.  Their first effort was the brilliant debut-album by Argentinean psych-outfit KILL WEST, which instantly put them on the map as a new label to keep a keen eye on.

The Sunburst-variant was exclusively pitched through the Echo Drug newsletter subscriber list, and was gone within 2 hours.. Make sure to sign up HERE  (scroll down just a tad) to get VIP access to super limited exclusive releases from here on out!

There’s just about a handful left of the Yellow/Neon Blue Splatter limited to 100 copies as I type, so jump on it asap!

“Sowersby is a dedicated bedroom producer, throwing a woolly fog over his dense creations: all compressed drums, tape hiss and reverb-drenched fuzz.”- Rolling Stone

The Details

Sunbeam Sound Machine is the brainchild of talented Melbourne multi-instrumentalist Nick Sowersby who writes and records in the sanctity of his garage in Collingwood, Australia. On Wonderer, Sowersby has honed in on his reverb soaked psychedelic chill-wave sound that blends the best of early Tame Impala and Washed out. He has enlisted the musical genius of Stu Mackenzie (King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard) to mix and talented Melbourne based producer Andrel Eremin (Chet Faker, Oscar Key Sung, Banoffee) to master the record. The contribution by these two completely different yet equally magnificent talents has provided a rich and sweeping sound that envelops the listener.
