RIYL: Kings of Convenience, XTC, Jens Lekman
Label: Meritorio Records
Influenced by dreamy jangle pop, The Paisley Underground and the California desert, Stockholm indie rockers Stephen’s Shore are a melting pop of inspirations. Ranging from the twee-tinged stylings of Kings of Convenience to the sun-baked melodies of The Byrds, the 5-piece has readied their debut full-length after a successful 7″ release in 2016.
First available track The Sun is a perfect melting pot of the mid-80s Paisley Underground sound and vintage country Americana, ripe with pedal steel and breezy oceanside harmonies. If this is any indication of how the album will sound as a whole, I’m buying two copies. Check the track out below and grab some super limited vinyl after the ‘buy’ link.
