RIYL: Cosmic library music from Estonia

Label: EEE ZEE Records

Estonian composer and multi-instrumentalist Misha Panfilov has graced us with his first full-length, 10 soft synthesized electronic tracks inspired by vintage library music and classical minimalism. Misha’s flair for experimentation lends a significant psychedelic vibe to the album’s core, as warm keyboard tones gurgle and flit over spacious atmospheric soundscapes. Picture an old reel-to-reel documentary film about marine life in the South Pacific or a dusty antique store somewhere in Finland in 1978. Heli Maagia is the soundtrack to these types of worlds, a kaleidoscope of faded memories and the vivid imaginations that replace them. Fans of Mort Garson’s Plantasia and its ilk will love this one.
