RIYL: Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Morgan Delt

Label: Greenway Records

“Yesterday’s gone and tomorrow feels obsolete.”  Quarantine, the newest track from L.A. psych pop group Levitation Room, is an honest, vulnerable portrait of the toll this year has taken on us. While the tune is a stylistic shift from the band’s usual swirling psychedelic kaleidoscope, Quarantine still fits comfortably in the band’s reverence of the 60s. A ‘pick and grin’ acoustic riff reminiscent of early Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel and Donovan, the musical foundation here is a perfect marriage to the melancholic lyrical accompaniment. One of Levitation Room’s best songs no doubt.

Greenway Records has this brand new number for your listening pleasure on blue vinyl. It’s limited to a mere 100 copies, so I’d be cautious of hitting the snooze button. I doubt they last long! If you feel so inclined, there are also a minuscule amount of hand-numbered and stamped test pressings for $45. Listen to the song below and pick your poison after the ‘buy’ link.
