RIYL: eclectic indie psych

Label: Mind Altar Records

Brooklyn indie psych four-piece Honduras will celebrate a limited edition 7″ single release this Thursday, March 1st, with brand new label Mind Altar Records.  Known for their energetic live performances, Honduras combine the driving proto punk stylings of The Velvets and the eclectic psych musings from new groups like King Tuff, Mac Demarco and The Allah-Las to perfect their unique take on the genre.  There’s a little taste of everything in there.  Lead single Need the Sun surfs on a Born on the Bayou-style riff and coasts along a breezy rhythm section and some vintage organ tones.  Excited to hear more from these fellas!

The vinyl starts at $7 and will be available in three versions, with artwork and design by Mind Altar’s Ryan Irven.  Side A also has a locked groove, so the party can go on as long as you like.  Also, the test press edition, limited to a mere 5 copies, has an alternate 2-color screen printed sleeve.

Now, here’s where you’ll need to pay attention.  These are dropping online on Thursday, March 1st, at Noon EST for label subscribers and 2 PM EST for the general public.  How do you become a subscriber, you ask?  Well, my inquisitive friend, head over www.mindaltarrecords.com and smash the ‘Newsletter’ tab at the top.  Fill out that bad boy and boom…you’re in.  Check out the tasty vinyl colorways below and listen to the new track.
