Austin Psych Fest’s own record label The Reverberation Appretiation Society is putting out Holy Wave’s second album “Relax” on the 28th of January.  The two new tracks that’s been leaked from this seems really promising!   Swirling organs, classic beats, jangly guitars and groovy basslines. Combined with great melodies and just about the right amount of reverb, these tracks makes me extremely excited for this album!

This particular version comes out on 180g orange vinyl in a deluxe packaging with numbered inserts. There’s also a regular edition on 150g black vinyl, if you want to save a few bucks.

I’ve been struggling to find out how limited this is, but I’m pretty sure it’s 500 copies. This is the usual amount when this label is putting  ltd editions out.

The Details

Holy Wave is a band of multi-instrumentalists from Austin, TX. The band’s sound has evolved into a unique blend of sun baked surf-psychedelia. Holy Wave creates a brand of psych that brings to mind fellow Texans like The 13th Floor Elevators and modern contemporaries like The Black Angels and Night Beats, dyed in carefully constructed noise with an attention to detail echoing the work of shoegaze influences like My Bloody Valentine and Spectrum.
