RIYL: A sludgier Juliana Hatfield or a baked-out Pixies

Label: Limited Fanfare Records

Limited Fanfare Records has graced us with a brand new bummer psych group out of Miami featuring ex members of Lil Daggers.  Take a heavy drag of Heavy Drag.  Their lead-off single is aptly named Kinda Slow, trudging along a muddy grunge riff and a tribal drum rhythm, the perfect anecdote to a long walk home in the cold rain, a blistering hangover on Sunday morning or prolonging your state of zen in your opium den.  There’s a bit of a 90s alternative vibe happening, and the trade off between male and female vocals feels like a darker, weightier version of The Pixies.  Solid debut, and I’m looking forward to hearing the rest!

If you’re on the fence, Limited Fanfare Records is throwing a test press into one of the first 50 orders, so give that a think.  Happy Friday, amigos.
