RIYL: wax begonias & sugar magnolias

Label: self-released

Here’s a little cosmic interruption to your daily dosage of clickbait journalism, political rants and TPS reports.  Meet Manchester psychtrumentalists Desmadrados Soldados De Ventura, 6 soul brothers honored with a pledge to bring transcendental aural treats to your ears.  If you love hearing live cuts of The Grateful Dead veering off path and breaking into 15 minute guitar jam sessions, you’ve found your new band.  First track Defixiones slowly builds over 22 minutes of guitar and organ explorations, and just when you think it can’t possibly go any higher, it catapults into the thermosphere.  I’m normally not super into long guitar solos, but this makes for a great exception.  Check out the entire track below.

The group has assembled 10 monster tracks for you, and it took 4 entire records to house it all.  Needless to say, this one will cost you a bit more, especially if you live in the states, but if you do the math, it’s less than $15 a record before shipping.  Not bad!  Now off you go, peaceniks.  Go make the world a better place.
