What sets This Will Destroy You apart from their countless peers is their ability to fill a space with both sublime guitar melody and downright brutal noise.  The weight of their sound, in its most intense moments, can almost feel like a physical burden…a crushing force rendering you completely powerless.

It’s both humbling and exhilarating.  Their 2011 album Tunnel Blanket showed the group’s growing interest in the ‘wall of noise’ over typical post-rock guitar progressions.  Their newest track Dustism, however, shows no favoritism for melody or noise, embracing both equally.  If the entire album sounds even close to this first sample, it’s going to be my new favorite TWDY album.

There is also a package deal with a t-shirt and a poster, and if you’re in the first 300 purchased, your poster will be autographed.

There is an Australian pressing of blue vinyl through Hobbledehoy Record Co. that is limited to just 300, but it will set you back $50+ if you’re in the U.S.  Decisions decisions.
