RIYL: The Kevin Costner Suicide Pact, Benoît Pioulard

Label: Spring Break Tapes

Spring Break Tapes, a label whose releases I’ve written up plenty of times here on Sly Vinyl, is taking an unexpected turn. Their namesake is putting something out on vinyl for the first time. In a sense, it’s a reverse situation of when we decided to start accommodating for limited edition cassette releases. The Fun Years are a duo specializing in post-rock/ambient a la Feel Good Lost or Goodbye Enemy Airship, The Landlord is Dead. I can only go off of what they’ve released in the past because Spring Break Tapes, to my knowledge, hasn’t provided any kind of glimpse in to what we’re going to hear on this thing. Will the pair, like Spring Break Tapes, take a sharp turn in to another direction or will they stay on course? Your guess is as good as mine. Their catalogue seems to line up with what Spring Break Tapes has to offer, at least from what I can listen to. As an incentive, since you don’t know what you’re going to get, there’s an undetermined gift if you’re among the first “x” (yes, that amount’s also unknown) to pre-order. There’s nothing to listen to from this, but you can go to The Fun Years Bandcamp page to see what they have. Cheers!
