What you see in the picture above these poorly strewn together words is the “crystal clear red” option. Now to me, that looks more like the color of a white person’s sunburned skin; I’ll cross my fingers for the “crystal clear blue” option to be the color of Walter White’s crystal. Anyway, it appears that something Frédéric D. Oberland was involved in unfortunately slipped right under my radar. Oiseaux-Tempête is a brand new post-rock outfit, based out of Paris which involves Oberland, Stéphane C. (a French photographer/filmmaker), Stéphane Pigneul (FareWell Poetry), and Ben McConnell (who’s drummed for the likes of Marissa Nadler, Au Revoir Simone and Beach House). The original record, which this of course comes from, has something you’d know is Oberland-esque – from all the material I’ve heard, with his involvement, he certainly has quite the touch. The man is even credited with providing “dark energy.” The remixes, though, are done by the likes of Justin Small (Do Make Say Think), Saåad, Machinefabriek, Oberland, Richard Knox & Cyril Secq and much more. Check out the remixes via the Soundcloud link below and see what you think of them. Cheers!
