Sadly it’s a Monday and with that, it signifies an end to most American students’ spring breaks. Mine was shockingly busy, so it didn’t feel like a break! However, I hope your spring break was satisfying and memorable. Spring break may be past, but the one thing I look forward to every spring (admittedly, something I want every single day) are the showers. People often associate rain and storms with dreariness and gloom but I’ve always felt happiest when there’s a storm brewing. The idea that millions of pounds of water is suspended over our heads, which comes out in droplets, is mind-boggling to me…
With the impending spring showers, it’s nice to have a go-to soundtrack to fit the mood. Ex-Easter Island Head’s Mallet Guitars Two / Music For Moai Hava is a great candidate if you’re looking for a record to fill in your rainy day playlist. The muted strings, soft organic percussion and solemn trumpet scattered throughout makes it feel like a thick fog is going to roll through any minute – it feels like you’re listening to a sacred ritual. Check out Mallet Guitars Two / Music For Moai Hava below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
