I can’t tell you how happy I am to have stumbled upon Low Point. The amount of material and the quality of all it is quite striking, to say the least. They recently released a reissue of Kyle Bobby Dunn’s Fragments and Compositions Of which I already wrote about (click here if you want to check that out) but on the same day they also released Ex-Easter Island Head’s latest album Large Electric Ensemble. This is arranged in the fashion of a modern symphony with four movements. The second movement is a gigantic ambient wave washing over the first movement which has this extremely choppy consistency making you restless. It smooths out the kinks in the road, so to speak. The third and fourth movements bring back the sense of urgency and the bravado present in the first track. This is post-rock that constantly changes up time signatures and keeps you drawn in for the ride. The climax to the fourth movement (this entire record, really) is worth the wait. Check out Large Electric Ensemble via the Bandcamp player below and see what you think of it. Cheers!
