UPDATE: 500 Black Vinyl confirmed!
One of those finds that stood out for me last year, was the utterly brilliant debut 10″ EP by Yumi Zouma! (major thanks Cameron!)¬† This 4-piece recorded that one by sending files in between NY and New Zealand, and the result became a real gem. Lush and melodic indiepop/dreampop at it’s finest, with an 80’s vibe in the mix. They suddenly appeared out of nowhere, but their reputation spread like wildfire through the web (I remember watching their followers on FB going from below 100 to a few thousands within a day..).
The upcoming EP simply titled “II” is out the 10th of March via Cascine, and the first available track “Catastrophe” follows up right where the previous EP left off.
The Marbled Blue Vinyl is limited to 500 copies, available on a strictly first come first served basis,¬† the next 500 will recieve Black Vinyl. There is no telling if you’re in time for the colored one (except maybe contact them and ask)..¬† But the most important thing is that you actually get a copy at all!¬† Their debut sold completely out by pre-orders in a few days, and is compleeetely impossible to find..
*First 500 orders receive lmtd edition colored / marbled blue vinyl*
200 international (outside of US) copies available
Preorders will ship by Feb 23
Yumi Zouma returns with their much anticipated second EP, bookending their era of intimate and restrained shortform releases. The new tracks are just as effortless and engaging as expected, and evolved. Lush, electronic productions buoy key tracks and the vocal deliveries are increasingly sophisticated.
