Talk about a damn fine record.

Our good buddy Philip from the band Estrangers (check out our post of their album HERE) also runs a record label by the name of Phuzz Records and they’ve just yesterday released their second album!

Twelve Thousand Armies is the effervescent musical project of Charlotte native and regional cult personality Justin Williams, whose collaborators and live band includes members of The Love Language (Merge Records). Tiger Beat was mixed by James Wallace (Mount Moriah) and mastered by Nick Petersen (Bon Iver, Megafaun).

This is one fun and invigorating record! Even in the slower moments, I still feel an energy that makes me want to move. Riddled w/ a pop-psych vibe, these guys keep things lively and interesting throughout the entirety of this release.

I’ll admit, I sift through a ton of music, across many genres, on a daily basis… but man, this particular record just stands out in so many ways!

If I was asked to commit to a release for one of our podcasts at this very moment… it’d undoubtedly be this gem of a record.
